Discuss your architectural stone project

01 / Stone within the architecture

Custom interior stonework for Brisbane & the Gold Coast.

The most considered stone features relate to the room around them. Proportion, slab movement, adjoining joinery, lighting and smaller edge details all influence the finished result.

We work from your plans, elevations and design brief, collaborating with homeowners, architects, designers, builders and cabinetmakers to resolve the fabrication and installation scope.

Fireplaces & feature walls

Stone surrounds, hearths, wall panels and returns, with the layout and adjoining finishes considered.

Shelves, ledges & niches

Custom stone components integrated with cabinetry, wall linings and specified supports.

Furniture & statement details

Table tops, consoles and display elements, alongside selected backlit and sculptural stone features.

For room-specific work, explore kitchens, bathrooms and commercial interiors.

02 / Fireplaces & wall features

Give the room a focal point.

A fireplace surround or large stone panel can establish the tone of an interior. We consider the feature’s proportions, slab direction, hearth, returns and the way the stone meets the surrounding wall and floor.

Send fireplace and appliance specifications with the drawings. The project team needs to coordinate the proposed surround, backing, adjoining materials and installation requirements before the stone details are finalised.

Plan the panels, not just the surface

Available slab sizes, access and the proposed construction influence panel divisions and joins. We work towards a considered relationship between adjoining pieces within the limits of the selected stone.

Curved islands & reception desks.

A curved island or reception counter can become an architectural feature in its own right. We consider the outline, fascia depth, fluting and adjoining joinery as parts of the whole interior.

03 / Shelves, ledges & display details

Make the smaller pieces belong to the room.

Stone shelves, ledges, niches and display details need the same care as larger surfaces. We review their dimensions, thickness, edges and relationship with the wall or joinery before fabrication.

Supports & spans

The proposed span, stone weight and intended use need to be coordinated with the project team’s support details. Share wall construction and joinery information early.

Edges & adjoining finishes

Confirm exposed edges, undersides, side returns and junctions with other materials. These smaller pieces should be included in the drawings and quote.

04 / Custom stone furniture

Table tops, consoles and display elements can be tailored to the intended space. We assess the stone selection, dimensions, shape, edge and base arrangement as a complete fabrication detail.

From a quiet top to a sculptural profile

A fine edge, deep mitred fascia or curved outline changes the way a piece reads. The selected stone and proposed support determine which construction approach is appropriate.

Provide the base or joinery drawings, intended use and access details with your brief. We confirm the quoted stonework and any adjoining components before production.

05 / Backlit & statement features

Let light become part of the stone detail.

Some translucent stone selections can be backlit to reveal colour and movement differently. A successful feature begins with the actual stone and the intended lighting arrangement considered together.

Panel sizes, joins, support, light distribution and access for maintenance need early coordination with the relevant trades. We assess the fabrication scope around the proposed feature and its location.

We recommend reviewing a sample with the proposed lighting before finalising the design. Not every slab will transmit light in the same way.

Integrated basins & coordinated stone details.

A basin, vanity, splashback and wall panel can read as one considered composition. We plan the bowl, fascia, curves, shelves and surrounding stonework together with the cabinetry and fittings.

Resolve the junctions before fabrication.

Pattern & joins

Slab movement and component positions influence the visual continuity. A matched appearance does not mean the work is join-free; proposed join locations are part of the layout.

Thickness & profiles

Confirm the specified thickness, fascia construction, curves, returns and exposed undersides. These details affect both the appearance and the fabrication scope.

Finish & care

The chosen stone and finish should suit the intended use and care expectations. We discuss these alongside the design, rather than choose a material on appearance alone.

Materials we work with

We work with marble, quartzite, granite, dolomite, limestone and onyx, together with selected terrazzo and porcelain slabs. Architectural selections are assessed against panel layouts, shelves, furniture, specified supports, care requirements and any proposed lighting.

07 / From concept to installed stonework

A clear process for your architectural feature.

We template your architectural stonework onsite, confirming panel layouts, joins and adjoining details. We manufacture and hand-finish the stone in our Slacks Creek workshop, then coordinate installation and sealing where required, with access and specified supports considered.

Where the design includes sinks or basins within our scope, we fit them onsite ready for your plumber to connect.

01 / Share the design

Send plans, elevations, the project address and reference images. Include dimensions, stone preferences, adjoining finishes and any appliance, support or lighting specifications.

02 / Review & quote

We assess the proposed stonework, material and construction details, then quote the agreed scope. Any items needing further information are clarified before production is booked.

03 / Confirm & template

With the relevant site preparation and adjoining work ready, we confirm dimensions, panel layouts, edges, joins and any specified supports.

04 / Fabricate & finish

The stone components are cut, shaped and assembled to the confirmed details. Hand finishing refines the edges, transitions and agreed finish.

05 / Install & hand over

Access and handling are coordinated with the project team. We install the agreed stonework and provide care guidance for the selected material and finish.

08 / Your interior stone questions

Plan your bespoke stone feature.

What architectural stonework can you fabricate?

We assess bespoke fireplace surrounds, hearths, wall panels, shelves, ledges, niches, table tops, consoles and other interior stone details. Send the drawings and reference images so we can confirm the scope and fabrication approach.

Do you work from an architect’s or designer’s drawings?

Yes. Plans, elevations and detailed sections help us understand the proportions, junctions, edges, adjoining finishes and intended result. We coordinate the stonework details with the relevant project team.

Can you make a stone fireplace surround?

Yes, subject to the proposed design, material and installation details. Include the fireplace or appliance specifications, hearth and surround drawings, backing and adjoining materials so the project team can coordinate the requirements.

Can you fabricate custom stone furniture?

We can assess table tops, consoles and other bespoke stone furniture components. Provide dimensions, the proposed base or support arrangement, intended use and access details. The quoted scope identifies the stonework and any adjoining components included.

Can all stone be backlit?

No. Translucency varies by material and slab. We need to review the actual selection and proposed lighting arrangement, including support and access for maintenance, before confirming the fabrication detail.

Will the stonework have joins?

Joins may be needed because of slab sizes, component dimensions, shape, construction or access. We plan the proposed positions alongside the stone pattern and surrounding details.

What do you need to quote the work?

Send dimensioned plans and elevations, the project address, preferred stone and finish, edge details, reference images and timing. Include support, lighting, appliance and site access information where relevant.
